Google Bad Review 1:  What a disgrace. This man agreed to help me with imaging, in both his emails to me struck a faux-helpful tone (the advantage of emailing surgeons from different email addresses over a period of time is you can see the catchphrases they re-use – in this case Britto's is something like “you've raised my curiosity I'm more than happy to see you”. No idea why one has to pique his curiosity in order to arrange a consultation with him but I imagine he thinks it makes a prospective client feel all special and fuzzy.

I need the imaging because the vast majority of surgeons abroad (I do not trust surgeons in the UK because of the poor knowledge of aesthetics and the low volume of cases they deal with compared to the USA or elsewhere – in fact the surgeon Britto recommended to me is, I understand, under investigation for absolutely mangling the face of someone I know) require images before consultation. When I mentioned there was an imaging centre I wanted to use (I had checked the prices for the scans as I didn't want to be conned into paying double or triple needlessly) Britto handed me over to his secretary to arrange the consultation instead of replying. That felt totally suspicious to me, as though he was trying to get me into consultation without answering the question about the imaging centre so I called her to make sure he'd refer me to the imaging centre I'd asked for and she said she'd ask him and get back to me.

Cue radio silence and when I chased it up, he told me could no longer help me and that I should liaise with the surgeon I wanted abroad. He went from “If what you want is simply someone to order investigations to suit a plan you have already made, I would be happy to move that forward for you.” to “The investigations that you require are complex and specific, and really should be ordered by the surgeon who is going to undertake the surgery, so that they can be discussed with the radiologist and radiographer who will be involved in the capture” as soon as I asked the question about cost. The imaging isn't complex in the slightest.

This wasted weeks of my time researching imaging labs for him. His answer to that was “I apologise that you feel that time has been wasted, although I do note that you waited several weeks before getting back into contact, and you apologised for the same.” Err what? Yes because I was doing research on the topic, duh!

My experience is that a lot of surgeons can jumpy if you are informed (I come from a family of doctors so know how this often corrupt industry operates) or they run a mile if you start being anything but totally subservient to them and taking ownership of your experience and your decisions. It stems from the toxic NHS culture in this country.

Google Good Review:  Jonathan is the best in the business. Not only is he a genius who looks at the face with the eye of an artist he is simply the nicest person you could hope to meet. He transformed my face achieving a natural, youthful look. Not a hint of pillow face just a refreshed face and eyes that now open correctly which has improved my vision too! He is so much fun to be with that it is impossible not to feel relaxed and in great hands. And the after care doesn't stop – he makes himself available to answer any concern at all.
