Google Bad Review 1: Unacceptable service, product and general mannerism from the owner of this shop.

Went in on Sunday to make a copy of a fully working entry fob to have as a spare in case of emergencies.

Thought it would be a v simple task as if you see a sign advertising for a service outside a long established shop you expect the service they provide to be satisfactory.

It took the best part of 30 seconds for the shop assistant to ‘copy’ my fob – I happily paid him £15.

Shortly after this I walked home, tried to use the new fob to gain entry to my building but it didn’t work so I returned to the shop (15 min walk each way) for them to have another go.

The following day having returned from a busy day at work I found neither the new fob or the old fob would operate my door meaning I am now locked out of my building.

I returned to the shop at 17:35 (they close at 6) – Patiently waited in line for the attendant to finish his patronizing comments to the customer before me who was unhappy about another service relating to shoe repairs.

After very politely explaining the above to the man behind the desk he stared me dead in the eyes in a very confrontational way and seemed surprised when I reacted in the same way.

He accepted no responsibility for my time that had been wasted from the shops incompetence, he did not apologize, did not try and resolve the situation, tried to intimidate me and acted as though I was the one in the wrong.

All of the above is unacceptable

The reason for writing this review:

1) You should not advertise a service you cannot complete to a satisfactory standard as it inconveniences your customer.

2) If you have inconvenienced a customer through your incompetence you should apologize and accept responsibility for your actions regardless of whether you can resolve the situation or not.

3) You should offer a refund on the money paid to you immediately and say I am very sorry for the inconvenience I have caused you now and for the further inconvenience you have for being locked out of your building and for the inconvenience the customer will have for resolving the issue that your shops incompetence has caused.

My building charges £40 per fob for new fobs, I gave you £15 so overall I will be £55 down just to be back to having one working FoB. This is not factoring in the two weeks I will have to wait to receive it.

May I suggest if you wish to avoid confrontation that you do not provoke your customers and do not advertise and charge your customers for work that you clearly cannot do.
