Google Bad Review:  Need a receipt or payment recording system. I recently took my blazer to alter sleeve length, the tailoring is good. However I went during a busy time on Thursday 4pm, and when I made my payment in cash, Hadi the tailor took it and forgot to record the payment due to a line of people forming to retrieve their tailored cloths, and I was not able to read the handwriting saying To Pay on my retrieval ticket. Also was quite disappointed that I was put at the bottom priority compared to what other reviews saying their tailoring is done within 1 day, Hadi said it will be done in tuesday (5 days!) I have my event on Monday and had to compromise and ask for it to be done by then. On Monday I was so happy to retrieve my blazer, but was met with humiliation when Hadi asked for payment, which I had paid on Thursday, I told him I did pay and received condescending comments saying “if you said you paid, you paid” this is very humiliating as never in my life have I been told I did not pay, and made me feel like I was a thief. This made what was a happy moment turned very sour, just because there is no proper payment recording system and advise to pay by card to have a record, I thought I was doing the small business a favor to pay in cash but this was not the case.

Google Bad Review:  Recently my wife had a few articles of clothing dry cleaned at Droplet (Gray's Inn Road outlet) including a shirt of mine. To our surprise & shock my shirt returned with all labels removed. The collar label was cleanly cut off with cutters and all traces of branding was cut out from the care labels within. First reason offered by the staff was that it must have fallen off in the cleaning process. After some consideration and confusion my wife returned to further pursue the matter and spoke to another staff member. In this case she was told that the labels couldn't have just fallen off and the manager will be consulted. The shirt was left at the premises and we allowed some time for the manager to review the situation. She returned again to pick up the shirt and asked for an explanation and compensation for what had happened. But the explanation this time was that the damage didn't occur at the premise and maybe we are responsible for the missing labels. This was clearly not a valid or coherent explanation – and frankly unprofessional and insulting. Ordinarily I would not care too much about labels or branding, but this was a Tom Ford (circa £300.00 retail) piece specially bought by my wife for our wedding. It was only bought in May 2022 and worn twice – it was practically new. The shirt is tied to its quality / design, but also to its maker – removing the labels takes a lot away from the item's value and most importantly it has degraded something sentimental to me. This was explained to Droplet, but obviously they couldn't care less – we will never use their services again and would caution others against leaving high value items with them.

Google Bad Review:  Need a receipt or payment recording system. I recently took my blazer to alter sleeve length, the tailoring is good. However I went during a busy time on Thursday 4pm, and when I made my payment in cash, Hadi the tailor took it and forgot to record the payment due to a line of people forming to retrieve their tailored cloths, and I was not able to read the handwriting saying To Pay on my retrieval ticket. Also was quite disappointed that I was put at the bottom priority compared to what other reviews saying their tailoring is done within 1 day, Hadi said it will be done in tuesday (5 days!) I have my event on Monday and had to compromise and ask for it to be done by then. On Monday I was so happy to retrieve my blazer, but was met with humiliation when Hadi asked for payment, which I had paid on Thursday, I told him I did pay and received condescending comments saying “if you said you paid, you paid” this is very humiliating as never in my life have I been told I did not pay, and made me feel like I was a thief. This made what was a happy moment turned very sour, just because there is no proper payment recording system and advise to pay by card to have a record, I thought I was doing the small business a favor to pay in cash but this was not the case.

Google Bad Review:  After actually pinning the required hemline whilst the curtains were hung in front of the guy who collected them and marking on the reverse with a pen, they seemingly went ahead and used this pin point as the measurement to CUT the excess fabric BEFORE bothering to add whatever seam allowance they use. I know this as they have come back and they are too short by exactly the same amount as the turned up hem. I may as well have put the several hundred pounds charge towards a new pair of bespoke curtains. They did a decent job splitting the two panels in half as requested and the actual hand sewing itself is perfectly fine. BUT to not add a hem allowance is amateur, even if someone was unsure, why would you not check with the client if they had (for some bizarre reason) already added a hem allowance and not specified what that was . I just don’t understand how that can happen? Now I’m just undoing the hem and leaving them unfinished so at least they don’t look ridiculously ill fitting. Also after years of having interior and fashion items altered I have never known any tailor to not return the cut off excess fabric, especially given it was the equivalent of a few square meters of expensive silk. So I wouldn’t recommend this business for larger / luxury / curtain alterations and even if you send something simple to them, I advise you give *fool proof instructions and insist on checking in with whoever is doing the actual work to verify every detail. Lesson learned.

Google Bad Review 1:  Mediocre photos and poor organisation of graduation.

The company oversold graduation tickets, where there was clearly a lack of appropriate seating. At £15 a ticket, I was not expecting my family to be sat behind a pillar, where they couldn’t see a thing.

Ede & Ravenscroft simply ignored my email containing photo evidence of my guests’ view (or lack of) – no amicable discussion, nor compensation. The photos were also dark and poor quality, compared to that of my previous undergraduate graduation.

Google Bad Review (2):  Absolutely appaling company to deal with. My daughters university used these people for Gown Hire and also photography. The Gowns were ill fitting and poorly laundered, many people complaining about creases and lack of ironing. But my main complaint is about their photography – we have waited over 6 weeks now and still no photos have arrived, despite them hurrying you (with a deadline) to order them. Their customer service is amongst the worse I have ever come across, their phones always being busy or being diverted to a dead end. They are quick enough to take your money, but deliver a terrible service. If you can, steer clear.
