Google Bad Review: Unfortunately a really bad experience renting the property 14 Park Road Ground Floor Flat at RSK.
We have rented this flat for almost three years and always payed our £1200 rent on time with no delays. We looked after it and made it our home. We were informed the flat had damp which had been ‘treated', this was not the case it was dark and took over half our wardrobe after a few months moving in, I ended up having to throw away my handbags and some clothing, it also triggered my asthma.
The flat has a lot of holes which led to mice coming in especially into our bedroom hiding behind our wardrobe where are clothes were. Our final decision to leave was when a huge rat came out of the toilet bowl.
There was a leak one night from upstairs into our bathroom and a massive stain on the kitchen wall as a result of the leak. This was very unpleasant and embarrassing when having guests over, the landlord got it painted but it came through again and they then just left it like that.
There are sewage gutters right outside the bedroom door which make a lot of noise and keeps you up at night. It often overflows and leaks into the shared pathway, we often had to clean and unblock this ourselves (very nasty). The landlord has fully furnished the flat with very old and already broken furniture (stuck together with super glue), which he will then attempt to charge you for out of your deposit. The landlord treats you like a thief when checking out of the property when they're the ones taking our deposit money over small wear and tear and even making us pay their bill! We accidentally took some items when unpacking and they started acting like we did it deliberately!
During our check in the sofa was stained and dirty, the curtains were also stained, we moved in with the toilet flush not working. They did nothing to clean the sofa and curtains as part of our request to them as tenants (also stated on the paperwork which they signed). Despite this at checkout they were ruthless picking on any minor wear and tear to try and take more money from your deposit.
RSK were also terrible as they take the landlord's side. They threatened us in our last few days of moving out that they will charge us double rent if we dont allow viewings again, this was illegal and when we said we will sue them they quickly apologised saying they got us mixed up with someone else.
They are bullies often deliberately spelling our names wrong when emailing us. How could we allow viewings with all our personal items in boxes everywhere! We let them view until our last few days but they are ungrateful. They even kept asking us to do viewings when we would have left the property by then, which don't make sense. They then despite giving one months notice demanded we pay rent!! Then apologised over the phone laughing saying it was their mistake again, after chasing me and me explaining this to them several times that this was not nessecary as we have already given a months notice!
Anytime you put an honest review down on here they ask you to take it down, just becareful, not all is as it seems especially during checkout they get so mean and aggressive both landlord and estate agent.
