Google Bad Review 1: In reviewing Hoxton Shoe and Repairs I will offer my personal and honest experience; which on this occasion was absolutely inexcusable.
Sadly charlatans who favour malpractice, customer dissatisfaction and abuse! Never again and seriously avoid like the plague if you value your belongings.
I welcome an aggressive and infallible response from Hoxton Shoe Repairs; which seems typical of all low rated reviews they receive rather than focusing on customer satisfaction and resolution.
I brought in a pair of beige and black Chanel shoes into Hoxton Shoe Repairs to get these re-heeled and to discuss some water marks on them and whether this could be remedied, i spoke in length with whom I believe to be the owner on how this could be resolved and my concerns (having not had this done before) at this stage he was extremely helpful and seemed knowledgeable in the advice he was offering, claiming that while the service he was proposing wouldn’t make the shoes look brand new it would make them look revitalised and give them a new lease of life, giving them 100% improvement. We discussed that in order to make them look ‘brand new’ they would need to be shampooed and then treated; but on this occasion I decided to exclude the shampooing process and proceed with the leather treatment in order to receive the improvement.
Upon collecting the shoes with my partner we were absolutely speechless and shocked at the ‘work’! The gentleman in the shop described the product used as ‘nourishing cream’; which had been applied un-evenly and thickly with large areas of gunky brown marks all over the shoes and stains that were not there prior. There was staining appeared all over the black toes of the shoes, in the stitching and also all over the edging of the soles. We pointed this out to the gentleman and rather than trying to take on board what we were saying he demanded that I hadn’t wanted to get them shampooed and so this is why the quality of the treatment was not satisfactory; I again reiterated the staining and uneven application on the shoes and the soles and he said he would ‘fix it ‘and to us to go for a coffee and come back in 15 or so minutes.
Upon our return and checking the ‘repaired’ shoes we were speechless to find that he had crudely painted over the edging of the soles in what could only be described as a black ink/ paint which had been incredibly poorly applied and had also bled all over the beige leather uppers, i pointed this out to the gentleman absolutely distraught at the mess he had further caused and he flatly denied all knowledge of what i was referring to, telling me that there was no problem and he had fixed them.
At this point his colleague asked to see my ticket and proceeded to rip it up which had detailed the service i had paid for so that i had now had no record of the work undertook to substantiate or guarantee the work! when i asked for a repeat ticket to note the work a gentleman with glasses that can only be described as a inept lout said he ‘didn’t know what i was talking about and the ticket was now ripped up in the bin’ essentially they were trying to eradicate any proof I had detailing the works. We were treated as if we were talking another language , told we were talking rubbish and told that we were lying about the condition of the shoes prior to the work; denying all work undertook by them and the damage they had caused. At one point they told us they had photographs showing the shoes before which we said great, let’s look at them, they made their excuses saying they were in possession of the owner and therefore could not present these! I left the shop in floods of tears with a £700 pair of shoes damaged beyond repair and was offered no resolution despite asking to speak with the owner; whom they told me is never around.

Tried to charge me £35 for a heel replacement…walked down the road to another repair store and they fixed it no hassle for £12.
