Google Bad Review (2): This is without doubt the worst energy company I have ever used. First off they seemed to have two accounts set up for my address under my name and constantly sent me demands to urgently set up payment, even though I had already set up direct debit and was making regular payments.
From there things just got worse and worse. I was being charged double the quoted amount (approx £100/mth for a 1 bed flat), much more than I've ever paid before and more even than many people in family homes. This is despite the fact I am frugal and even stopped using the heating.
I tried to address this with their customer service but the polite responders in the Philippines were unable to assist me in any useful way. I continued to pay my extortionate monthly bills but at the same time kept receiving statements with an additional debt. I asked why this was and why I didn't just get billed the full amount but again I get no meaingful answer. Then they have the audacity to send this unexplained additional bill to a debt collector, who I have to call up and pay separately. I again complain and demand my complaint is answered by someone senior. I get no response to this but a few weeks later out of nowhere I received an email from another team based in the UK who apologise and refund the money to my account. Fair enough, the monthly bills are still inexplicably high, but at least they acknowledge there was a mistake on their side.
As I write I am again receiving statements in addition to my monthly direct debit stating that I am accruing debt of over £100 so far. Again I get no meaingful answer or explanation for this from the delightful first responders in the Philippines.
I am at my wit's end. Please, don't make the same mistake I made and be sold on the false promise that this company will consolidate your bills and make paying your bills both easier and cheaper. It won't.
Furthermore, as for consolidating all your bills into one neat package this couldn't be further from the truth. The bills are still dealt with separately and you will need to contact your water supplier and and local council yourself. Homeshift only managed to bill me for broadband and electricity and, had I not been sold by the promise of low prices, I would certainly have got them both cheaper elsewhere and with a lot less hassle.
