Google Bad Review 1: Folgate Insurance acquired Tokyo Marine who we had our Company insurance with.
We are now with Folgate Marine. It is good to see all of the 5 star reviews as laid out below. Are they fake?
The commercial unit attached to ours had a fire. This made our unit unusable. We were appointed their loss adjustor. This all happened around 8 weeks ago. So far absolutely no help. There main concern is attempting to prove we had under insured our premises.
I personally met with their loss adjustor and the following happened.

1. Initial meeting his first comment was “ your property is under insured” without going through the front door and seeing its size
2. Second comment was “Party Wall” survey will be expensive
3. You will need planning permission which will be expensive
4. All of these comments were to frighten me into thinking I was under insured. It didn’t work
5. Employed specialist fire investigation company when we hadn’t had a fire, smoke and water only
6. Confusion over sums insured. Insisted that sum insured was based on Gross profit, not the case.
7. Sum insured for contents of £10k when we clearly signed up for £25k
8. Informed him that printer company condemned printer and want £9,800.00 for replacement, he put that figure straight onto his spreadsheet. He insisted on this figure even after I proved that its value was £4,600.00. I also had independent engineer out who confirmed the printer was fine. Original printer company resigned as they realised they were liable with a fraudulent report
9. Refused to pay for temporary storage
10. Refused to pay for temporary office space
11. Refused to pay for redirection of post
12. Refused to cover the costs of relocating the printer
13. Refused to have the intruder alarm repaired
14. Refused to have the roof fixed

So as a building contractor who builds these units I am now preparing for a court case to prove the rebuild value of our unit. Very tempted to give them a 5 star review. NOT!
