Google Bad Review (2): The worst letting agent experience ever.
First of all you are being contracted by Bryant agency but Albany is signing the contract with you as a sister company.
I had to wait two weeks for the front door key despite the fact I have stated from the very beginning there will be time and my partner living. I also had to travel to their office to collect the key. at the end.
The flat did not have sufficient heating, which is my bad I should have asked for it beforehand but we moved in summer and I taught there might be underfloor. There was one small electric heater in bedroom that can be turned only manually and a free standing in the living room. When I asked if the landlord can provide us with an oil heater that can at least store some heat and be more efficient I was told:
The landlord had 4 good tenants there and he feels there is sufficient heating in this apartment. However, he is more than happy for you to buy your own and you can take it with you when you move out”.
The apartment had single glazing and again, my bad I did not ask for the heating details. The bathroom floor had yellow dirty stains and the silicone was not changed before we moved in, we had to do it ourselves as the old one was very mouldy.
Prior to moving in I was informed there was a leak from or into the apartment and it needs to be investigated but it never was.
Thinking the flat will be partly furnished I was advised a day before moving in the LL needs to remove one sofa. The other one was damaged by a cat and I have found cat medicine with the address on the cupboard but the agent informed me there was no cat. I have an allergy and I had to pay for a deep clean with my own pocket.
We were receiving bills for the period we did not leave in the apartment and 5 months later we were still receiving letters the balance in outstanding.
We have asked to remove some furniture (the old damaged sofa, desk and a pink corner unit) which felt out of place but it was a struggle to arrange and we have ended up hiring a van and removing it at our own cost.
Yes I am not happy, I am complaining and it could be avoided if I would pay more attention. However what I was told about the heating was totally unacceptable and rude.
1 star is for the price as they were happy to negotiate. Not much but still.
