Google Bad Review 1:  Car was supposed to have a full valet which they charged over £200 for, I took the car early Saturday morning and went to collect it when they were nearly closing and found them still working on it. They had a busy day and left my car until last, it should of been finished long before I arrived. As it was getting dark when they finished, I couldn't see until the next day how bad it was, seems it had a quick slapdash job in the time they had left. There was smears all over the dashboard and chewing gum still in the cup holders. Milk stains were still on the back seat and in the boot, not as bad as they were but still visible. It would of been cheaper and quicker to buy my own wet and dry Hoover and do it myself. Way too expensive.

Google Bad Review (2):  I see the owner has removed the response with the personal insults and are seeking legal advice. I look forward to hearing from them, as them not being part of the Motor Ombudsman scheme makes it very difficult to pursue any complaints as a consumer.

If you want an idea of how professional this place is take a look at the responses to critical reviews. The owner has called me “insane” and “smelly”. Responses to others are just as bad. I am also the most difficult customer ever for asking how much the work will cost.

The owner will keep telling you that they are transparent then refuse to give you a rough idea of cost, if you do get this out of them it will vary wildly (from £200 – £500, take this as we will charge you at the upper end). They will say they can diagnose the problem then say they can’t guarantee their work. When they take it in for diagnosis they will start the work without consent. They will try to baffle you with analogies that don’t make sense, if you ask for them to explain it he just repeats the same analogy over and over again, beware, he is clocking up the time he’s wasting to charge you for it. If he starts talking about how a doctor treats a lump on your finger, ask him to stop immediately.

Here’s my story. I took my car in as it had a leak somewhere, they said they could diagnose which would cost me £100 so I took the car in asking them to find the leak then quote me how much it would cost to fix it. They sent me videos via text message (which I told them I couldn’t open) then I called to get the diagnosis and quote they had already dismantled the car to fix the problem. I asked how much is was going to cost and said I hadn’t consented to the work yet. They told me that it would now cost me a few hundred quid regardless as they’d spent time working on the car. I thought that as they’d started they might as well finish but asked again, how much will this cost me? They said between £300 – £500 but assured me that it would be at the lower end as there wasn’t much to do. In the meantime they had sent the videos explaining their procedures by email and I watched them. I called again to ask them not to perform some of their “6 steps” which I could do myself to bring the cost down further. The man on the phone spoke *at* me for a good 45 minutes basically wearing me down until I agreed for them to do it for me. He explained nothing, he insisted all 6 steps needed to be done (they don't). I told him to stop the work if it went over £400 as I couldn’t afford for it to go any higher. When I went to pay the bill they gave me an invoice for £498, they hadn't called me to warn me. They guy gave me the invoice then proceeded to tap buttons on a calculator, taking away the £50 deposit I had already paid, adding a random £70, I didn’t catch what that was for. I said he was supposed to tell me if it went over £400 and I didn’t have the £568 he was asking for I said I’d look at my banking app and see what was possible, he said he’d go and get my car. When he came back I told him how much I could pay he tapped it out again but didn’t add the random £70 this time and it was £498 by coincidence this was almost exactly what I could pay! I paid and said I’d pick the car up after work. When I picked my car up the hand break locked and has locked a few times since (something that never happened before, the car no longer rolls forward when I put it in drive which it should do and always did before this lot pulled it apart and put it together again). I am now having to take it to someone else as I don’t trust these people to fix it, they will run me round in circles and most likely try to charge me even more money to put right what they have caused. Credit where it’s due the car is now dry and doesn't seem to be leaking anymore, was cleaned up lovely and really smelt nice when I got it back. I still feel like they conned me but I dare not ask for an explanation as he'll explain nothing for an hour then charge me more money for his time!

FB Last Post Text:  Here we have a paint spillage clean-up. Every spring, people call us having had this kind of accident on their way back from the DIY centre. There is no getting away from the fact that this is a bit of a disaster, but we can fix it as long as we get to it quickly, while the paint is still dry. As you can see from the video, it is labour intensive and takes quite a few man hours. However, the cost of a clean-up is far less than the cost of replacing the interior. These video c…lips are what we send to the customer as updates of our progress. They also serve as a record, so if you are claiming on your insurance (or the DIY centre's insurance), they can see the extent of the damage and how much time it took to clean. You don't have to wait, get the car to us as soon as you can. ————————– Our Car Paint Clean-up Service ► https://cars.newagain.co.uk/service-details.asp… Help!
