Google Bad Review 1: My grand daughter attended YMCA in Westminster. The staff were lovely but the organization is atrocious.
For 6 months I paid approximately $200 per fortnight more than I should have had to pay because the centre refused to change the pricing structure when the govt changed the child care subsidy in July 2018. I was also left with a bill of over $3,000 which they ‘graciously reduced to $1200 which was caused by their mismanagement of the changes while their manager was away. I had to take my granddaughter out of the centre because I could no longer afford being so over charged and we left the area for 12 months. When we returned to the area recently I contacted them again to see whether finally that had adjusted their fee and hours structures so that I could be charged for only 10 hours a day which was my subsidy. The manager Claire said they had changed the structure finally 12 months after the govt brought in the changes but for 10 hours a day We could only attend from 7.30 am until 5.30pm. I am a shift worker and start work on some days at 7am. Claire informed me that they cannot adjust the times and if I want to come earlier I need to book her in for for 11.5 hours a day even tho she attends for 8 and my subsidy is for 10 hrs a day. If I did this I would continue to pay $200 a fortnight more for her care. While we were out of the area my grand daughter attended Cuddles child care in Carlisle. The manager at that centre could provide 10 hours a day at any time that it suited me for full time care for $160 out of pocket a fortnight compared to $360 a fortnight I paid at YMCA in Westminster . In 6 months at YMCA I paid over $3000 out of pocket more than I would have had to if my grand daughter was at Cuddles. I was in meetings with them almost weekly during that 6 months and in the end had to take my grand daughter somewhere else. I can not recommend YMCA and would give them zero stars, however to be able to post at least one star is required
