Google Bad Review 1: I signed up for a free trial and discovered too late that they do not send you an email to let you know your free trial is coming to an end like most reputable companies do these days. Yes, it is in the small print that they will just start taking £10 a month out of your account but it hardly fits with their statement:
“Which? exists to make individuals as powerful as the organisations they deal with in their daily lives and we seek to achieve this in a number of ways: our advice helps them make informed decisions; our campaigns make people's lives fairer, simpler and safer; and our services and products put consumers' needs first to bring them better value”.
“Fairer”, “simpler”, “put consumers needs first” – Which? you are not this if you rely on people forgetting and taking money out of their account without them expecting it. Be transparent, send an email to customers to let them know their free trial is ending.
The subscription is not worth £10 a month. I got the free trial to research washing machines for a relative. It was interesting that much of the information across different machines was exactly the same as if a cut and paste job. One of the machines I was interested in is specifically designed to have a quiet spin. It was reported by Which? to have a noisy spin. This was not reported in any customer review of the machine. Where did this come from? I would advise customer reviews are far more useful than Which? reports.
