Google Bad Review 1: I used Vorbild services in 2017, with Michael assisting with obtaining a planning permission for a rear extension to a four storey block of flats, then supervising the erection of my ground floor extension.
Michael was charming and sociable. He helped obtain the planning permission achieving a better result (permission for a larger extension) than the previous architect. However, his advice with regards to architectural decisions while sound, was uninspired. I would give him four out of five stars for this work.
Regrettably, I cannot recommend Michael for the construction supervision work because of his unfortunate lack of attention to detail, which is so absolutely critical with building works. I myself kept catching the builders making mistakes or blatantly cutting corners while Michael sailed serenely past their botches.
Recently, I had to pay nearly £2,500 for a complete re-covering of the flat extension roof where Michael in his capacity as site supervisor failed to notice that the original builders (introduced and recommended by him) failed to install any damp proofing under the coping stone and botched the drainage and flashing so that rainwater had been collecting inside the walls and the ceiling, eventually manifesting in a massive internal leak that required re-decoration of the kitchen and also shorted my kitchen, dining room and bathroom circuits.
For site supervision work, I can give Michael one out of five stars – for turning up and issuing supervisors' certificates (although also not without hiccups).
By all means use Michael for charming the planning officer into giving you the permission you want (as long as you are prepared to do all the creative thinking yourself). Avoid for contractor selection and site supervision.
