Google Good Review: Since fracturing my neck in a horse-riding accident in 2007, I developed complications triggering chronic migraines and constant neck pain which became so debilitating that I was forced to abandon my career and quit my job. During this time, I’d spent years being treated by various consultants, pain specialists and physical therapists, both within the NHS and in the private sector all with varying degrees of success and failure. However, none of my treatments delivered long-lasting, effects or real relief. It felt like a hopeless, never ending search, up and down the country (as well as abroad), looking for clues and cures that would eventually rid me of the cause of my pain! I tried everything from alternative physical therapies that offered a “false sense of hope” yet delivered nothing short of a big blow to the pocket to the alternative; vast combinations of medications, all of which carried nasty or very unpleasant side effects! Then finally, came my breakthrough; after discovering Amanda Oswald’s “Myofascial Release, (MFR), Pain-Clinic” based in London. Within a short space of time of commencing treatment, I began to notice small yet significant shifts and a reduction in my pain levels as well as an increased range of movement in my neck, where previously mobility remained severely restricted. Taking into account my past setbacks and disappointments and coming from a medical background myself, I remained cautious yet optimistic about the outcome as there was no denying my body’s positive reaction to the MFR treatment. This combined with Amanda’s impressive in-depth knowledge about the musculoskeletal system, fascia and the body’s innate healing ability and response to pain. Over the months that followed I have continued to experience a steady reduction in my symptoms. Since meeting Amanda, I have come to know her well as a caring, dedicated and highly skilled MFR professional. Comparably qualified therapists are few and far between in the UK as I found out through my exhaustive search. The vast majority still being based and trained in the USA. She has an intuitive ability at sensing and reading the body’s signs and signals and targeting problem areas within the body, some of which you aren’t even aware are the very root cause of the problem. She has also taught me valuable self-help techniques which I am readily able to use as a means of aiding and supporting my own recovery. It’s such an empowering feeling to finally be able to take back some control over my own healing process!! I still have a little way left to go, but eventually and for the first time in years, I feel positive about my future again. Since commencing treatment with Amanda, my migraines have almost diminished and my neck pain occurs far less frequently, and the pain is generally low-level and will generally resolve in its own sweet time. For the first time in years I’ve recently been able to resume swimming again, a sport I once loved but something I hadn’t been able to do in years without it triggering more pain!
