Google Bad Review (2): I went to the Lalit just for a birthday lunch with a group of 5. The place was completely empty, and we were alone for at least 30 minutes before 1 more customer arrived. Despite this, anytime we wanted help, or to order, or ask for anything, no one would be paying attention, and it was taking a ridiculous time to then actually get the attention of a server. All the waitress was doing was cleaning tables repeatedly, this of course was no problem, however, when customers are waiting to be served, and when THERE IS NO ONE ELSE, you would think there would be excellent service. When actually taking our order, she was VERY confused unknowledgeable about the questions that we asked or about the food which they served, which were very simple, for example, we asked if certain items were suitable for vegetarians or vegans. We ended up deciding to not pay the service charge as we collectively felt the service was highly inadequate. A day after the lunch, a friend of mine who works at the Lalit but was not on the day we went, tells me that the workers were ridiculing us, calling us ‘loud’ and ‘rude’, (other things shall not be mentioned). However, this is far from the truth as we did not confront the waitress or the manger about how we felt, as we felt this would be very impolite. The establishment was very beautiful so we took some pictures of ourselves after we had ordered, and as there was 0-1 customers, we didn’t think we disturbed anyone. I was absolutely APPALLED at the fact that the workers spoke such nasty things. I believe the fact that we did not pay service charge is what caused this. However I have NO REGRETS, and perhaps the service and ATTITUDE of the servers should be under review. I would give it 0 if I could, however, the 1 start is for the food, which was very delightful.
