Google Bad Review 1: I was attracted to this place due to it being a small independent store with good reviews. Unfortunately my experience was far removed from what others have seemingly experienced. I have just moved into a property and whilst the kitchen is not to my taste, it would be a shame to rip it out and start again, I was excited to come across the Kitchen Doctor and promptly gave them a call. I spoke to a lady who was almost surprised I was calling them to enquire about the services, straight away she suggested I pay £120 for a survey and without that there wasn’t much else they could do. Given this was an initial enquiry, I was a bit taken aback by the directness of her approach. Nevertheless, I explained that I had a fully detailed CAD floor plan with exact dimensions (I’m a surveyor) along with numerous photographs – would that be sufficient to get an idea of what you can offer and how you could renovate the kitchen. She suggested I email them in and they would be in contact and couldn’t wait to get off the phone – her manner was pretty dreadful, unhelpful and almost confused as to why she was receiving a phone call. I can only assume most people must go into the store, even during a pandemic.
I waited a couple of days and hadn’t even received a reply back to confirm they had received and they would look at the photos and drawing in due course – I followed up with a call again and spoke to the lady, similar manner but did confirm my email was received and I was “on the list” – not being sure what she meant, I pushed for an understanding of what happens next and during what timeframe, she become agitated and said someone would call back but they were busy.
Few hours later a guy called back (James), whilst slightly more helpful, he asked what I wanted and I explained I wanted to update the kitchen without having to rip it out. He started counting the amount of doors from the photographs I had sent, working out how much worktop I needed and then provided a ball park over the phone – not taking any time to tell me about their products, what they offer, quality, type of materials – nothing. Just a ball park and another push to pay £120 for a survey. The ballpark was a similar to price to what I had been quoted for a new kitchen, I mentioned this which was met with an arrogant laugh, “what do you expect, we would be pretty much putting a new one in without the cupboard carcass so of course it’s the same”
Awful service, arrogant and unhelpful – I can only assume they are swamped and don’t need the business – I wish them luck.
I have since placed an order with a competitor, polite, friendly, provided an overview of their service along with samples, came out and measured up (without any charges!!) and were a lot less than the ballpark quoted.

Google Bad Review (2): I don’t think The Kitchen Doctor in Pratts Bottom / Orpington really needs the business so don’t bother going. I have tried going there on three occasions now to discuss options. This morning I arrived at 9.20am. Opening is stated as 9.30am. Two members of staff were sitting in the glass shop front. I waited until my phone and watch showed 9.32am. One man stood up, went and got something, looked right at me then sat down again. I don’t know why but I still continued to wait. Finally I walked away and will take my custom elsewhere. The sheer arrogance of them. Don’t go out of your way.
