Google Bad Review 1: one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever received. I always thought one benefit of rampant neoliberal capitalism is the darwinian extinction of half arsed companies, unfortunately not.

they were: 3 hours late, unapologetic, offered only a £10 discount, wanted money up front. this doesn't seem to be a one off either, many of the reviews here attest to this.

a confused and ill equipped family eventually turned up, but by that point we'd had enough and cancelled before handing any money over. don't make the mistake of booking with them, they'll dredge the happiness out of you; their only area of competence.

Google Bad Review (2): Second time I've used Happy House Cleaning and definitely the last. First time the clean was to a very high standard, and as a result I decided to call them in again as they did a great job the first time. However calling them for the second time was a big mistake. The first visit I was originally charged £114 (which is understandably very cheap) for our rented 1 flat bed, however as I was a returning customer they said they would honour the price. I left the house as the team begun the End of Tenancy Clean and within 5 minutes I had a call saying “due to the state of the fridge and the oven it would cost an extra £50”. It was definitely not £50 dirtier than the quoted price as the oven and fridge had been clean within the last two months. I'd have had no issue with this if they had just stated they had no intention of honouring the original price but felt like it was a cheap ploy to charge me extra. As we were due to hand back our keys that same day, this left me with no opportunity to find other equal quotes.
Secondly, the clean was to a very poor standard. I had to go around once they had ‘completed' the clean and ask them to wipe down all of the shelves as they had not been touched at all. On top of this, after paying the increased charge, the team of three packed up and left without a single word, thanks or goodbye. Not expecting a full blown conversation, just minimal customer service would have been appreciated.
Unfortunately I hadn't done a complete inspection of all of the areas of our flat before the team had already rushed away. I found the two storage cupboards had not even been opened, there were multiple smear marks all over the kitchen surfaces, limescale on taps, no dusting behind or on top or behind of cupboards or drawers (I would have been happy to move if asked or made aware), radiators had not even been looked at and the none of the windows had been cleaned (from the inside as per the agreement). I had to spend an extra two hours once they had left to finish the areas that were missed. Not what you need when you're trying to leave your flat for the last time.
Overall, the final check out report reported the flat as cleaned to a minimal domestic standard, and honestly, I'd agree so will probably end up costing me more money taken from our deposit to clean to a standard that new tenants can move in. Very poor cleaning quality and very poor customer service. Would avoid and choose a cleaning company who will charge you the same amount but do a much better job. Photos attached.
