Google Bad Review (2): A recent appalling incident has finally made me write a review. I have used The Genuine Dining Co's restaurant that is based in Haste Hill Golf Course, The Drive, Northwood HA6 1HN on several occasions.
The food served in this restaurant was recently overhauled thank goodness and became passable, albeit expensive for a council golf course. However the service has always been terrible from the female bar staff. They are surly to the extreme – one would expect a friendly smile but no such luck. And it isn't a one off, this miserable attitude is prevalent every single time I have use the bar/restaurant.
When I have mentioned it to the locals, they laugh as it is a well known “joke” that the staff are miserable.
However, on 9 July, I attended a big golf day and there was a BBQ open to the public. I ordered chicken skewers and my friend ordered a beef burger in a bun. Both were served raw and I genuinely mean raw, not slightly undercooked but RAW!! The food was being cooked by two bar ladies – are they even qualified to cook?
The reason I am annoyed enough to write this review is because of the attitude I faced when I returned both plates of food. They were objectionable, claiming it was simply a little underdone and would deal with it. As luck would have it, the chicken was so raw that my friend took a photograph of it and will be taking this up with food standards. I heard others complaining and the bar lady was heard stating that all raw food served would be returned to the kitchen ovens to be cooked properly, presumably by a proper chef???
There is a regular turnover of kitchen staff in this restaurant and I only wish the bar staff would suffer the same fate.
I have had an upset stomach, sickness and other unmentionable symptoms and hope it will ease soon.
I will never eat in this particular restaurant again, there are some lovely, FRIENDLY & HOSPITABLE pubs within 5 minutes drive of this golf club.
