Google Bad Review 1: We were informed on arrival for our reservation that The Garden was closed due to earlier rain. We thought this may be the case, but weren't too concerned as our email confirmation said that in the event of bad weather, we would be moved inside and the original menu honoured. This was not the case though, we were told that the kitchen was also closed, without explanation, and we would just have to order something from the snack menu as no hotel kitchens were operational at the time of our afternoon reservation. At the very least, a courtesy call in advance would have been nice. Truly appalling service from a “5-star” hotel. We left and ended up dining elsewhere, so a wasted trip.

Google Bad Review (2): Disgusting service. Booked a table for the last night before lockdown via google (had a confirmation email from the fork as well). When we arrived, they said that they had no booking under and despite showing them the confirmation email they refused us entry. Furthermore they said they could seat us only in the Northall which lacked atmosphere, was dark and bland.
Despite being a regular visitor to the garden terrace, I shall not be returning nor shall anyone in our company.
What’s more shocking is that upon confirmation they ask for card details to secure the booking and would charge £30 a head for no show. Understandable but given that they messed up the booking we should be offered the same level of compensation. Disgusting service. Not a 5* experience at all.
