Google Bad Review: This company tried to rip me off. I needed an EICR certificate for my property (a small 2 bed flat) and employed the Electrical Services Team to do the inspection. They said I need a complete rewire. I called their electrician Dale, in the days following, to find out the estimate. He said the quote hadn't yet been completed but he'd just rewired a 3 bedroom for £5,000.
They sent my quote the days following for £9,000 incl VAT and claimed it would take 19 days. A colleague then recommended another qualified electrician ,from a professional electrical company, who completed a full rewire within 7 days and charged me just £3,000 inc VAT and issued me the regulation EICR certificate.
After having to pay the £228 inspection fee to Electrical Services Team, I complained about them on the Check a Trade website. Rob – a manager from Electrical Services Team contacted me apologising for the high quote and asked if he could do anything to redress – I asked for a refund of my inspection fee. He said he should be able to refund at least part of it and he'd get back to me in the next couple of days . When I heard nothing back, I called him. His attitude was completely different toward me – very aggressive. Perhaps, me being a woman, he thought he could intimidate me. Kept saying I was lying that they'd tried to over charge me by £6,000 for a rewire quote. Fact is, I have the evidence from them by email and also the emailed quote from the electrical company I'd employed in the end to rewire my flat. I received no refund back from them.
They should have never offered to redress my bad experience of them with a refund if they had no intention of doing so, plus the rude and aggressive call was just too much.
I ‘d read good reviews about this company which is why I employed them in the first place, but my own experience is a company with no integrity and complete disrespect when they're given a negative review. Despicable.
