Full review: (tried to stay as objective as possible)

On delivery, Peter boxed in the driver side of the car against a parked vehicle, so much so that he had to climb out from the passenger seat. There were other parking spaces available. I asked if he could park in another parking bay but he said I should do this later! To handover the vehicle he drove out, but he left parts of the van boxed in.

At the end-of-hire inspection, he found damages near the area boxed-in during the initial handover of the vehicle.

The damage itself was extremely difficult to make out.

I objected and he said he will review his videos and photos. He called back to say that after a full review of previous evidence he had concluded damage was caused by me and not present before.

Only on reviewing my own videos did I noticed that damages was already there.

He then said my video may not be acceptable evidence as it did not have a timestamp, as it may have been recorded after I caused the damage. I then pointed out that he is also in the video!

The van I got was over 6 years old and covered more than 109,000 miles. The onboard computer gave spurious information. To Peter's credit he said the computer needs fixing, but still that's not good to me. My trip was 98% motorway, and using the full tank to full tank measure of fuel burn and milage travel I averaged 21mpg! Atleast half the journey was with an empty van. This is nearly 50% lower than the official Ford advertised spec, and over 30% lower than the honest John average mpg value.

I did notice an issue with the clutch and mentioned this to Peter. He continued on to say that there is an issue with the suspension but only he would notice as he drives many transit vans and can tell the difference!

Also, during the initial hand over I noticed immediately on the documents that he had recoded information about my driving licence incorrectly. (Information which he had filled in, not me). He assured me during handover that details will be corrected and I should sign anyway. But these were never corrected. I'm not sure what would have happened if the damages had escalated to an insurance claim!

My deposit was refunded in the end +£18. I am yet to receive an email to say everything is cleared and they are not investigating the damage.
