Google Bad Review 1:  If there is anybody out there who is looking for a removals company to operate and take full responsibility for your move then it is NOT this company!! I am so angry – both at me for hiring this useless company and at them for the damage that they have caused to my personal, treasured belongings! Google Bad Review (2):  The guys came over one day before move to pack, friendly and nice chaps 3 of them. The following day, 4 guys came to pack and move. All okay, just that by the time they move everything it was 2 to 3 pm and reached the location at 4pm and unload. They couldn’t finish by 7.30 and needed to leave. The whole place was still with the boxes and also the installation of the tv, cabinets was not done. The guys said they are okay to come the following day to fix them but when they called their boss, the boss was not going to do that. We ended up with a half solved removals and with a place that was super messy and we don’t even know if we had all our stuff intact! Nice guys especially the younger chap and the leader don’t get my wrong but poor execution and coupled with a management that was not into service but rather just looking for £ and that’s it. Never again would we book them for anything. No customer service excellence mentality.

I can't stipulate enough how much stress (and money) these guys have caused over the past few weeks. I found their customer service to be cold and lacking empathy, had a really negative experience with this company, and so want others to avoid a similar experience.

Due to no fault of our own, we had to look at postponing our move, and instead of being accommodating, they also seemed quite happy to charge us £600 for the trouble. They justified this on the basis that they hadn't rebooked the dates (despite it being the busiest time for movers ever – March 2021, and the original date of the move hadn't even passed yet).

If this review hasn't put you off yet, and you are still going to book with them, then please ensure you have fully exchanged first, or you check their postponement policies as they are really strict (and expensive). Whereas other companies don't charge unless the postponement charges are within 7 days, this company will charge up to 10 days notice, and don't seem to care whether you cancel or book in with them again.

I can't comment on their ability to move your goods; in the end we ended up cancelling because they refused outright to waiver the 30% (£600) postponement charge. They were so unreasonable and unwilling to help us that we decided to go elsewhere.

UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO COMPANY REPLY:

1 – Initial enquiries might have been made for 22nd & 23rd March, but no formal agreement was made.
2 – We were informed by Burke and Wells of a previous cancellation in regards to 25th and 26th March and made to feel as though the dates would be filled immediately due to the busy period. We didn't ‘insist' on booking prior to completion either. We were acting on advise from our agent to go ahead with the booking on the basis exchange was going ahead that day.
3 – Payment was taken on day we booked (not two weeks prior).
4 – At the time of booking it wasn't made clear that the company treats a postponement the same as a cancellation, and therefore terms and conditions were not fully discussed verbally.
5 – The postponement notification was made with enough time for the company to rebook dates (and they admitted one of the dates had already been filled at time of refund).
6 – Was given no choice but to request a refund on the basis that the company refused to negotiate on the 30% charge, despite having filled one of the dates, with still time for the company to rebook the remaining date.
7 – We will be issuing a formal complaint with the company and do not believe this review to be ‘grossly unfair'.

UPDATE:
After complaining the company have refused to issue a refund or take any responsibility for poor customer service.
