Google Bad Review 1:  In short, if you are a tenant stay away from this money making agency
(money making, but draining the tenants last funds).

Firstly, I would like to say, in case Ellis and Co tries to discredit
my review by stating that they have cross-referenced their records and
couldn’t match my name. I prefer to keep my full name private rather
than blurting it out left and right on online platforms.

Secondly, I would like to make all tenants (or potential ones) aware
that most positive reviews on here have one thing in common and that
is: They are composed by landlords.

So without going into much detail, if you are a tenant I would stay
away from this agency (at least the Golders Green branch that is).

I should have been more suspicious from the start, when I was shown
the property and promised a two year contract. Made my holding deposit
and referencing payments and then being told that a break clause will
be put into place, stating that the landlord can raise the rent by
£150 after one year’s tenancy. The exact figure was then taken out of
the clause, but the breaking clause and potential raise remained in
the contract. Unfortunately, at this stage I couldn’t withdraw myself
from the contract without losing a considerable sum of money.

Throughout the tenancy neither the landlord nor the agency have been
particularly considerate. E.g. refusing to install a security light at
the entrance and insuring our safety (considering that there were
several break-ins in the area).

When my circumstances have changed and I was forced to move out, the
agency was neither understanding nor considerate nor helpful.

Upon check-out, I have left the flat in a spotless and perfect
condition and it appears that they couldn’t find any issues, so had to
make the up. First mentioning an area and pretending it to be my
responsibility. After comparing the two check in and check out
inventories, they removed that claim, coming up with three other
claims and stating overpriced quotes. As an example: Charging for a
light bulb replacement 15 pounds (not to mentioned the fact that also
in this case the liability and responsibility is debatable).

Last but not least, be aware of the 30 day deposit payback clause. By
law under the deposit protection scheme, the landlord is required to
pay the deposit back within ten days. Ellis and Co puts a clause in
their contracts to break this law.

I called them one time as there was a dead rat somewhere in the kitchen but they just ignore me. We suffered for 2 months. Also the place is full of yobs dealing drugs. They hang around the area from 11am till 10pm 7days a week

Google Bad Review 1:  I rented from Grey & Co about 4 months ago, as I was desperate for a property, they were very helpful and quick to forward the process and for me to pay the finances.
*** HOWEVER, things took a turn for the worst when I informed them that I wanted to vacate and following thru my breakaway clause in the contract. I read the contract thoroughly but when it came to them, they twisted every rule in the contract in their favour I.e the return of my full deposit which they Initially promised at the beginning of the contract that I would receive in full. I now received less than half after reaching out to them multiple times via emails and telephone, I felt ignored and completely misled.
I urge you all to NOT rent with Grey&Co as they WORK closely with difficult Landlords who want to squeeze every penny from you. They will smile for you at the beginning but will not honour anything at the end.

If ur intention is to rent, just stay away from this agency.. had many issue with the propriety one of them was the heating not working in December. (My 80 years old grandma came to visit us on that time) we been sending many emails.. long story short they keep us with no heating for more then one months,winter time, same with shower, we had no shower working when we moved, and it tooks 2 weeks for them to send somebody … I could say a lot more.. but I'll end just saying DO NOT RENT FROM THEM PLEASE…

Google Bad Review (2):  I had an absolutely awful experience with this estate agent. From the beginning, although they appear helpful when you are looking for a place with to rent, they are not. The agent we had was woefully unprofessional and not skilled for the job. (In one example, the agent emailed multiple times contracts with the incorrect address). When it came to the end of our tenancy, myself and my housemates felt that they were considerably unprofessional, rude, did not listen to our concerns and continually postponed dealing with the issues we were having. It took us 6 months to get our deposit back. When corresponding over email, it was as if this agent was purposefully trying to make our deposit return difficult and they lacked the ability to fairly mediate between tenants and landlord. They lacked knowledge and communication skills, It was a horrible experience, would not recommend.

I am a working class family man and I don't value staying alert throughout the night because of these occupiers.

It is a disgrace that you wouldn't mediate and instructed your occupiers on the most proficient attitude to be adjusted yet you couldn't as you never gone to the property?

As a letting specialist you should hold your heads in disgrace and concede because of your carelessness you have shown.

With respect to your other reaction I can see that you have expressed that you will resolve the repairs of the property, anyway I can affirm this is mistaken data. Deepak kindly don't attempt and trick the public that your foundation is repairing the house for the landowner.

What is respectable data that you can get direct I recommend, going by the street that you housed these people and inquire as to whether there is any hatred towards Ellis and co, I am certain you would find your answer.

Google Bad Review 1:  Greedy and untrustworthy.After our deal to pay in advance 5000£ for a studio in Cricklewwod, 3 months rent plus agency fees e.c.t, the next day they said that because of my unsatisfactory references i should pay 6 months up front rent, 7500£. After i rejected their offer, finally they made me the favour to procced with our first agreement.So if i had accepted to pay 7500£ probably they would asked me for 10000£. They were really hilarious! Instantly i cancelled the deal and i asked for a refund which was clearly stated that in case of unsatisfactory references it would be refundable.Of course they didn't. Be carefull guys, London is full of vultures.London Habitat is a great example.

Google Bad Review (2):  Really disappointed with the experience using London Habitat. We found a flat that we really liked and arranged a viewing at very short notice (within an hour) which I had to cancel another viewing for. I met Fabian at the property and within an hour after viewing we had agreed the list price, signed the application and paid a holding deposit (£550). Everything then went smoothly until ten days later when Fabian sent us a one line email to say the landlord had decided not to let the flat with them, seems like London Habitat just wanted an interest free loan for a couple of weeks? Later I discovered that this was a complete lie as they had let the property for £200 more than list, another example of a greedy agent that will waste potential tenants time only to use their offer as leverage to get other poor people to pay far over list. Unprofessional time wasters, avoid.

Google Bad Review 1:  What an unprofessional, heartbreaking experience. I received my contact to sign today on my purchase, one day after my buyers decided to pull out of the sale, 5 months later! When I was contacting the sales progression team the ladies there made me feel I was being a bother! I have since discovered the buyers were buying another property giving up weeks if not months ago! Robinson and Jackson did a shameful job by never chasing the buyers up! Spencer Humble called me to tell me the sale had fallen through. “Do you know any rich people who could lend you the money? He he”…and, “You weren't exactly inundated with offers were you?”. I hope I don't see any nonsense written under this to say that's not true because unfortunately it was.

Exchange of contract should have happened last friday, again last Tuesday and again today, but nothing has been achieved. In addition, you did not screen this buyer, and as a result he has been wasting our time for over 10 months now. We will be forwarding a formal complaint to your head office as well as the Property Ombudsman service. We are disgusted by the service we have received by your company.
