Google Bad Review 1:  Yesterday I collected some print sets having had Aperture process and develop three rolls of film for me. The service was prompt and friendly. However my experience with another employee at this store when I dropped off the films a few weeks back was appalling. It was the rudest service I’ve experienced in as long as I can remember, which has prompted me to write this review, the first I’ve ever posted.

The man who served me was surly, unhelpful and impatient, with a general air of negativity. He asked whether I wanted digital scans. Presuming this was an extra service, and making clear that I also wanted physical prints, we went through the details of my digital order. Every question I asked (about mode of digital delivery, price, turnaround time) was met with annoyance and impatience, as if I was supposed to know all of this information despite not using the store regularly. Having given my details related to the digital scans I then enquired about the size and finish for the physical prints. At this point, the man became visibly annoyed, as he had prematurely set up the card payment and now he had to add extra details to the paperwork and reset the card machine. He said (with a huff and an accusing tone) “you said you only wanted digital scans”, which was not true, and, even if it had been, is hardly the pinnacle of prize customer service!

Is it really so much to ask to be engaged in friendly dialogue by a shop assistant and to have the service on offer explained patiently, and to be guided through the options available, rather than this deeply unprofessional and, quite frankly, hostile response?

This is a specialist small business that I’d love to continue supporting but being treated so badly when trying to spend money with them just isn’t worth it!! I’ll never go back.

Google Bad Review (2):  I poped by Aperture today while visiting London to pick up film and had an awful experience. As a lover of film photography the reviews gave me high hopes. I had a few questions regarding what film to purchase and was met with extremely unhelpful and cold responses. I did end up purchasing film though my experience at the shop was very disheartening. Despite being within the store for only a couple minutes the staff member attending to me made me feel like I was wasting her time. A couple questions i asked we even ignore completely. I left the store with my film but, I honestly regret my purchase, I almost feel taken advantage of. I hope my experience is isolated as I cannot imagine others putting up with this standard of customer service, very odd.
