Google Bad Review 1:  In short beautiful venue, cold awful service and treat customers as second class citizens if you don’t look rich or dress in a particular way. Disgusted by the treatment and lack of service.

My friend and I attended on 15/3/19. The venue was not busy but the host two females at the desk told us we were not allowed to sit in the centre where the palm trees are as “we had not booked or unlikely to spend enough”.

This was an odd comment to make, but we just wanted a nice environment to enjoy a warm cup of tea and cake. We enjoy the afternoon tea.

We sat on the side. My friend had to go up and ask for a menu, the service was appalling and I was shocked that we were frankly being ignored.

I have never felt so uncomfortable or unwelcome before. I was astonished that we were disregarded. I couldn’t understand why?

To the staff at the winter garden restaurant I would say please don’t treat people badly for their race, or attire. We were both young professionals with highly respectable jobs.

We left upset as I refuse to spend my money or time in an establishment that would treat one so poorly. We went elsewhere- where customer service comes first and one doesn’t treat their customers with disrespect. You need to teach your staff what good curtious customer service is.
