Google Bad Review 1:  Metro rod promptly sent a plumber to my house upon receipt of a call out fee from Halifax Ultimate Reward Home Emergency. Problem: leak from upstairs that was discolouring the ceiling in two different places. I could tell that the plumber had no clue to begin with but I had to allow the man to do his job? Well, I guided him – after all, it is my house. He concluded that the leakage was coming from pipes behind the tiles in the main bathroom so I asked about the other discolouration on the ceiling ( about 3 metres from the initial one) and his response was that water travels. You cannot argue against that statement.
So what’s the solution? “You can use the bath but not the shower” This shower is connected to the bath! Are you sure? “ Yes”. Is someone going to call me? “Yes, I’m going to complete my report and send over to the office so they can contact you with the way forward”. Of course I did not use the main bath at all. Remember, the shower is connected to the bath – no plumbing science! Did they call back? NO.
I called them two days later and their response was – it was isolation only because you have another bathroom. When were you going to tell me this?
Anyway, Halifax are sending someone else to come and have a look. Halfway through this review, a call came through from a plumbing company. Guess which company…… METRO ******* ROD. I told them I would be calling the Halifax to send a different company THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I could sense that the lady on the phone was sympathising with me. That’s the only thing I cannot be 100% certain about!

Google Bad Review (2):  If I had a minus option I would have rated it as a terrible company. My insurance company put me touch as I had an internal leak in the house- Friday morning the issue had been reported and I followed up with a call to Metro Rod and agreed that they should call me first thing in the morning as it was late and they were very busy. I waited until midday and no call back as promised – called them on the local depot number but got no response – so called central call centre and they said that they had left them a message to call me back. Today its Monday 1340 and guess what – no call back! I had to find a local plumber who managed to sort issue. Why do insurance companies use such bad companies? Do not go this company is my advice!!
