Google Bad Review 1: It's not worth risking one's healthy and safety in the name of health and safety. In the midst of COVID-19, the worker sent for an annual inspection complained when asked to wear a face covering. Then, when one panel needed a special battery, he realized he had not brought enough along on the day…so a second appointment had to be scheduled–more time away from work, another visit from a stranger who refuses to wear basic safety gear. Best to avoid this company.

Google Bad Review (2): I had a door replaced this week which needed a new contact point. An annual service was also due, so when I booked in the annual service I also requested for the new contact point to be replaced. The person who booked me in assured that it can be done on the same visit.
However, when the engineer turned up for the annual maintenance service, he was not made aware of the requirement to install a new contact point for the new door and mentioned that Spy Alarms will need to send out someone else to install the contact point. I was assured that no call-out fee would be charged and I only have to pay for the part, as I had booked it as part of the maintenance service visit and it was the company's fault not mine. He would write it in his report.
So, when I called up to find out when they can send someone out to fit the new contact point, guess what: they wanted to charge me a call-out charge + Labour cost + Part. When I asked to speak with management to escalate as it was not my fault, my request was declined. Is this a case that the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing at Spy Alarms? Or is this a reflection that what they do not follow through with what they promised their customers in the first place?
I have been a customer for over 15 years with excellent annual maintenance service from their maintenance service engineers and this recent experience with a “non-standard” service request was and is way below what we expected.
I'm posting here simply because I was denied the opportunity to escalate and I am now expected to pay for labour charges that I was not told that I had to when original call was booked in.
Onto TrustPilot next.. so that other customers and potential customers need to be aware..
