We’re trying to relieve some of that pressure for 1,000 families by giving them a £500 grant to help them during the cost-of-living crisis. Six-year-old Paige, from Ballyclare in Country Antrim, Northern Ireland, has Mitochondrial disease. Because of her condition, she is often in and out of hospital…. While her dad, Mark, takes Paige to her medical appointments, her mum, Josephine, stays home to look after the other kids. This affects the family’s income, as Mark does not get paid for the time he’s not working. Josephine said, “The grant from Sense has been used to get some oil heating and been put on electricity – it will mean we won’t have to worry for a little while. “The Government aren’t doing enough.
