Google Bad Review 1: The move day went really well attitude of the team was great, polite and courteous. So thanks to them.
The reason for 1 star rating is mistakes happen, in the unboxing process there were some damaged goods. Nothing serious but damaged none the less and had a high RRP.
Followed the compensation process as directed but it doesn’t hit the insurance criteria.
I’m a big believer that common sense should prevail. Robinson’s has an opportunity to apply common sense. But all I got was a ‘computer says no’ and a goodwill gesture of £40. As far as I am concerned this is an insult to items that had a value of circa £700.
My advice to anyone considering Robinson’s is to really look at the insurance policy… does it cover your needs because if you fall out of insurance criteria and a mistake (by the packers) is to happen. You will be out of pocket.

The staff at Robinsons Removal Abingdon are friendly and helpful, the warehouse where goods are stored is orderly. Sadly while the face of Robinsons is great the care they take with your contents is dreadful.
I had my contents shipped from NZ. Before the marine insurance expired, the claims officer for the marine insurance visited the Robinsons warehouses with us and unpacked every container and viewed all items to check for damage during transit. All of the items damaged in shipping were repaired. After which my contents cover was in place while the items were at Robinsons, before being moved to my new home.
I had £15,000 or repairs and replacements to my antique furniture caused by heavy items being placed on weak items in the container, and generally items being squeezed into the container and roughly treated. I had one new very large bedroom chest of drawers in the original packaging that was stored separately in the warehouse. Robinsons used this as a workbench and I assume while sawing wood the sawed off the cardboard and the corner of the chest.
The internal Claims department used every argument they could to avoid reimbursing my insurance company and my excess. At one point they offered a derisory £250. I was able to provide my insurer with proof at every step the the Robinsons Claims dept where both lying or simply wrong. In the end my insurer gave up when the Claims department pulled down the shutters and simply ignored all correspondence. As a result, my premium has risen significantly. Thank you Robinsons Removals.
Worst of all is the unethical policy applied within the claims department which operates to shut down all claims of a size which they know the insurers will eventually give up on.
This is obviously a company wide widespread policy at Robinsons because their motor insurance applied the same approach. The very large removal truck also backed into my house and ripped of the guttering. I had neighbours who witnessed the truck, I sent pictures on the day to Robinsons and their motor insurance cover did the exact same thing. They ignored all the facts presented to them and after a point no longer communicated with my insurer.
A message to Robinsons, the amounts may be small in terms of my insurers but they are singnificant to me as an individual. I am appalled at the totally imbedded unethical procedure and policy you apply to client claims. Accidents happen we all accept that, hense insurance cover. You are clearly more interested in your premiums than doing the right thing for clients. I have every email and retained every piece of documentation supporting my claims. If I had the energy I would take this further.
