Google Bad Review: All started well with Peter. He inspected the property and gave prices for the work before starting. we agreed an “all in” price for 6 spotlights for £240 as well as a price to replace a gas hob for an electric one for £168. We didnt agree any other costs and he said he would do what he could. He seemed fair and reasonable so i agreed for him repair the toilet or replace it. Got pictures showing what was being done and late in the evening once he had finished he emailed the invoice…..i couldnt believe that for the toilet to be supplied and fitted and a light cable to be run in the kitchen the price had gone up to £987 !! I queried this with him against his quote before and he said that there were extra works on the Hob & Lights so i had to pay. I explained that he had already been there and given me the prices but he said he didnt have xray vision. I agreed to pay £800 but he said he wanted all of the money. It was very late at night and i was on holiday so i carried on the conversation the next morning. Once again i asked him to be reasonable at which point he started threatening me. he said that if he didnt receive the money by 1.30pm so less than 24 hours after doing the job, he would go and remove the work from my tenants property. He then agreed to take £900. Around 12.00 lunchtime I then received a call from my tenant who was very upset saying that Peter had called her and told her he was coming to remove his work that afternoon if I didnt pay. As I was away I had no choice but to make the payment of £900 even though it was wrong. At no time did I refuse to pay….. I paid for every piece of additional works carried out. Most trades I deal with take payment within 7-30 days. I was getting threats and being mocked within 6 hours of the job finishing & even after 24 hours was being told he was sick of chasing me even though I had paid £750 already. complete nightmare and shows how you have to be careful who you deal with. Overcharged and bullied into paying. I have emailed Peter today asking him to refund me the £54. He has replied with his usual tone even threatening me once again that it will cost me a lot more if i take it further.
