You're paying for the location, not the food. We arrived and the staff weren't sure if they had a table for us so we were told they didn't, then did, then they asked if we would sit outside (which we didn't want) then as we left we were told there was a table, only to be told they weren't sure if we could sit there or not. We were finally told we could – my partner asked if we'd be rushed out and if they were sure we could sit and eat and they said yes.
We ordered, they asked if we wanted everything together, we said yes. It felt like we were being rushed and this was confirmed as our food came out at completely different times despite them asking if we wanted it together. My food came first and my partner was left waiting for his.
The size chicken curry was a joke, initially it seemed reasonable until it came to eating. There was one piece of HALF a flabby-skinned bone-in chicken leg. It looked like there were two pieces of chicken but no – it was just a bone. There were 3 small new potatoes in it. The beef hor fun arrived in comparison, an enormous portion. It was bland, with the exception of being salty and very greasy. It had the exact flavour of noodles and beansprouts from the local chippy, my partner left half of this. The wonton soup was again, bland, the chicken satay was fresh and that was the best thing about the meal. The roti was fine but have had better elsewhere.
The meal came to £40. Better going to any number of Singaporean/Malaysian places in London.
