Google Bad Review: Took my classic sports saab 93 in for a SIMPLE service. I usually do my own services but gave it in to a garage as I am in poor health due to a recent diagnosis.
When I went to go pick it up they handed over the car, on my way home I was driving and went to overtake all of a sudden the car was misfiring and losing all power. I took it back to the garage straight to see if they can have a check over it maybe they left something off.
As soon as I arrived the awful customer started. When I explained what happend the older mechanic who carried out my service did not even look at the car and straight away laughed at me and said “you bought the car here like this your trying to get us to fix it” so he accused me of being dishonest instead of even having a look at it. After going back and forth I literally had to force him to come with me for a test drive bare in mind this car was handed WORKING PERFECTLY to the garage.
He drove the car very slowly and said there is nothing wrong with it and I told him the problem is on acceleration. He then accelerated and the car started misfiring and losing all power, he laughed again and said “I know the car was like this before” I was so angry but kept my cool. He then said “why don't you just drive it slowly it drives fine slow” which is absolutely ridiculous.
I went back to the garage and said I want to speak to a manager. They said there is no manager on site and another mechanic came to speak to me, he said come back tomorrow and drive it around, his exact words were “maybe the oil needs to mesh together with the engine in these older cars to go back to normal” I am a previous mechanic with the met police so you can imagine how ridiculous I found this comment.
I proceeded to take it home as I was getting no where and just angry and decided I will come back in tomorrow when the manager is in.
The next morning the car would no longer start. I called up and spoke to the manager and he was on the defensive straight away but he did tell me to come in… But my problem was the car was no longer starting lol. I decided against sending it back to this garage as their mechanics do not know what their doing clearly and making comments about oil meshing together with the engine was ridiculous.
I took it to another garage to find out the following –
– One screw was missing off of the coil pack
– the car was misfiring and losing all power as when the garage fitted the fuel filter they twisted the fuel hose causing a block
– the car was not starting as when changing spark plugs they cracked the coil pack
I do not know how they missed up a simple service but these lot are diyer mechanics your better off watching YouTube at home. AVOID
