Google Bad Review 1: I don’t go out of my way to write poor reviews for businesses, but the customer service I received was so dire, so here we are. I got two ear piercings here under their 2 for £50 promotion. I instead was charged £99. I was allegedly told that I needed to pay extra for the earrings I chose, but it was either whispered to me or they tried to communicate it to me telepathically, as no one in my group heard this, besides one person in my group who was seen by an experienced piercing technician. Believing they were under the 2 for £50 promotion, I chose the earrings that looked the least tacky, and proceeded to get my ears pierced. The person serving me was clearly training or new, as her supervisor had to finish putting my piercing in. I felt pressured to pay the £99, even though I genuinely believed they were under the 2 for £50 deal, as it was not made clear to me. We discussed the price that was charged, and the manager’s only response was a condescending “how could this have been made clearer to you we’ve never had this problem before”. (Perhaps check that your customer has heard this, or put a sign above your jewellery with prices?) Accepting I was stuck with being overcharged, I then asked if they could at least be switched to the regular piercings as I really didn’t like the look of the earrings, and I was met with sneering contempt from the store supervisor. She patronisingly told me this wasn’t possible from a health and safety point of view, which I could accept, but the smug and downright rude attitude I was met with was a step too far. There was no attempt or desire to remedy my situation or to understand my point of view. Not even an apology or acknowledgment that perhaps they could have been clearer in their sell. The store manager clearly has never had any training in customer service as it was disgusting. When I flagged that they should perhaps be politer to their customers, I was told that I was the one being rude. Quite the opposite. I was nothing but polite until I was met with pure disdain. Daylight robbery. Avoid like the plague.
Update 30/08 – Adding to this review in response to the business owner, as I am absolutely flabbergasted at what I've just read. It was categorically untrue that I was rude to your employee. All I asked was whether my piercing could be changed. I then SOUGHT OUT someone senior to escalate my concerns further, no one had to step in, so please do not tell bare-faced lies to try and make me look like I was “bullying” anyone. The price was not conveyed to me “multiple” times as you suggest. If it was mentioned once, it wasn't mentioned so I could hear it, nor was it reiterated. You've said you've never had this issue before, yet in the reviews I can see other customers complaining about your untransparent upselling tactics. You are right, kindness does go a long way. You would do well to heed your own advice.
