Google Bad Review: I took in my cream raw silk curtains to be dry cleaned. THEY ARE NOW RUINED. The owner advised only that the blackout lining may perish a little, which I accepted as I'd been told that by one other place. When I phoned to ask how it went, he seemed cagey and not confident sounding. To my horror, the silk had been pressed / steamed COMPLETELY FLAT and showed deep-set wrinkles like a piece of scrunched paper which had been ironed. Yhe fabric is now dull and had lost its sheen. Stains were still present, as was dirt and grime.
I tried to calmy discuss it but the owner simply kept making excuses and offered me £5 off (for wrecking a £400 custom made set of curtains) stating “well they are old” as if it would excuse his negligence in applying too much heat to a very delicate fabric. I eventually left after reluctantly paying him half the bill because I was getting a migraine from the sheer stress. He told me his boss won't be happy Then said he worked with his wife. Then said he was, in fact, the boss.
Called back today to raise a formal complaint and he said “you can do what you want”. I asked to be compensated and he said he will be “paying no money” . He was abrupt and stated he couldn't talk as he was “too busy”. I asked for his trade association, or a convenient time to talk and he just rushed to get off the phone. I said I will be writing a Google review and taking it further. He said “fine, you can do that”. I'm fuming at the general dismissive attitude and disrespect to my property.
