Google Bad Review (2): After a week of travelling in UK and not anywhere long enough to find a doctor I went to Parsons Green Walk-in Centre. I understood I had to pay 75 pounds, as an over-seas visitor and I would be seen by a nurse. Despite a deep rumbling cough, producing disgusting green gunk, feeling feverish and unwell the nurse told me she did not consider me ill enough for medicine. She said my blood pressure was a bit high….. (it never has been before but paying 75 pounds for nothing induces high blood pressure) I then spent 2 days travelling to get home to Botswana and went to my doctor to be told I have bronchitis and she put me on a nebulizer immediately for half an hour at the surgery to get improvements going and I have started a 5 day course of antibiotics. (Total cost about 30 pounds)
What a pity I wasn't offered any treatment in Parsons Green – IN RETURN FOR MY SEVENTY-FIVE POUNDS on Tuesday night. I could have travelled more comfortably. In the scheme of things what difference would it have made to the nurse to attend to the sick and prescribe some antibiotics? I TOLD her I was travelling and had no chance to rest-up and get better on my own. She said I would probably feel better in THREE weeks and if not I could get antibiotics later…. Really? I already knew I could get them later but why must I arrive home in an exhausted heap just to get antibiotics “later” ?
Some years ago I went to this same drop-in centre with another problem and received similarly unhelpful treatment so this isn't a “once off” mistake. Don't bother to go – it's a RIP OFF
