Google Bad Review 1: Went here for a contact lens trial at a cost of £49 ( was given a pair of multifocal lenses) When booking was told by receptionist that their trial price covered for trial lenses and tests in order to obtain the right prescription.
Went back after two weeks for my first appointment. I explained to the optician that my right eye was blurry and the lenses were not suitable for computer use and not too good for driving.
He told me that I needed a different prescription and that I would need to sign up for their 3 month plan at a cost of £36/month to be paid upfront for the 3 months. I was told none of this on my first appointment.
Finding the monthly cost to be high, I asked him if he would give me the prescription as I had already paid £49, which he refused as apparently they do not work like that.
So basically, I had only one option – pay £108 for the 3 months.
I explained to him that signing for a plan when I didn't even know if the lenses were going to work for me simply didn't sound right as I could not be refunded if they didn't work.
Any suggestions by me about perhaps letting me pay for one month to begin with and see how I got along were rejected.
I left there feeling cheated and having thrown £49 down the drain.
