Google Bad Review 1: First time visit here today. The restaurant was lovely and modern, and the welcome was friendly and pleasant.
The menu we got looked slightly different to the one outside and online, but still had some nice options. The waitress didn't know which part of Peru the beer was from when we asked her. We asked her as well what the beer was like “it's beer… From Peru…. I'm Greek, I don't know about Peru.” This is quite disappointing.
The food came and it was perfectly pleasant. The chicken was nice, if not a little dry, with a very rich and pleasing sauce. The beef croquettes were tasty without being memorable.
However, the reason I'm leaving such a negative review is because the restaurant engaged in what I would regard as slight malpractice. We were asked if we wanted water for the table, and we said yes, fully expecting tap water. When the bill came, we'd been charged £3 for “filtered water.” I said I wasn't happy, and that the expectation I had, along with many others was that water for the table would be tap, and he sort of shrugged and said “well those are your expectations…” He did offer to remove it from the bill but we'd had it so it seemed unfair. I stated that it would have been nice to have this explained before we went ahead and said yes.
So a reasonable dining experience soured slightly by some filtered water. I wouldn't rush back, as I don't really feel happy about a couple of things, but there is enough choice on the menu that it may well appeal to others.
Having seen some of the other slightly sarcastic responses from the company to negative reviews, it doesn't strike me as very professional. People are entitled to their opinions, good or bad, and customers' views should be treated with respect, unless they are wholly off the mark (which many were not).
