Google Bad Review (2): When we were working in London, for convenience we used this vet practice even though we knew they were pricey and turnover of vets were too frequent! Luckily our German Shepherds didn't have too much wrong with them.
Two years ago, our Poodle needed his teeth cleaning and after fasting and just before his appointment time, we were told at their Welling surgery that the cleaning machine was out of order! Of course it would trouble them too much to ring us beforehand! That's when we decided to take Oliver to another practice. We were extremely happy with Vets 4 Pets when Oliver had his teeth cleaned and liver problems monitored. Unfortunately due to Covid, all 3 vets went home to their respective countries.
Stupidly, for close location, we came back to the Oval Pet Centre and Oliver was put under a lady vet's care.
We were not that impressed by this vet, but among all other junior vets, we had not much choice. Oliver's main problem was his liver and a consultant at Queen Mother's Hospital was overseeing his case so all the Oval vet needed to do was just taking his blood, send for analysis and report to us, a copy to the consultant for info, of course with a hefty fees!
When he had his blood test in January, I mentioned about his teeth but was told by the vet that they were not bad and we should wait until next blood test to see whether his liver gets a better reading (even though I knew the reading on that blood test was very good and the consultant was not concerned about him being under anaesthetic). To follow the Oval vet's advice, we waited until next blood test in May. On that morning, before the blood was taken, we were warned that Oliver's teeth were in desperate need of attention and he would possibly need at least 5 or more extractions! This is only 4 months later!
I was by then very upset and had lost complete faith in this vet (and the practice as a whole, having experienced some unpleasant greetings when phoning) so we looked seriously around and found another vet practice through wonderful Google reviews and other dog walker's recommendations.
While we were in the process of transferring the case to the new practice, we were still waiting for the consultant's comments about Oliver's blood test results and she is normally very prompt in sending out a report. Bearing in mind this report was vital information for the new vet, especially as Oliver would still need his teeth taken care of. When I phoned the Oval vet and was again greeted by a nasty reception when they still denied the fact they had received the report. On the same evening we received an email from that Oval vet using a “copy and paste” method to incorporate the consultant's report into her own text in order to disguise, I am sure, the actual date of the original email sent to them by the consultant. That led me to make further investigation through phone calls to the practice (one of the nasty reception called Rhianne even put the phone down on me when challenged. It transpired that the consultant had reported 3 days earlier!
I then wrote an email to put my views forward and guess what? We very quickly received a formal letter from the Office Manager not apologising but confirming we were no longer their clients and they had taken steps to cancel our Wellness scheme with them and moreover we were not allowed to phone the practice due to the breakdown of mutual trust! As if the fault was ours!
Having cancelled our scheme with them, we received yesterday, as usual, a text message reminder for our two dogs monthly flea treatment! This is just one of the extreme inefficient running of the practice which inevitably prompted me to write such a long bad review to be shared with others.
