Google Bad Review (2): Beware. Origin have a “forced saving” policy wherein they take some of your money (weekly) IN ADDITION TO RENT for the purposes of offsetting their (possible) costs with regard to “universal credit”. (Their words not mine)
You CANNOT GET HOUSING with them unless you agree to ” voluntarily save”.
Interest earned on these savings (for the life of your tenancy) IS NOT YOURS. THEY KEEP IT.
That has been my experience. Perhaps their policy has changed. But, even though I didn't go ahead with the tenancy, they took direct debits from my bank account 3 weeks running. Despite my having written and hand delivered information that I was not a Tennant.
No apology. Just silently taking my money.
2 directors of this “charity” receive remuneration (according to companies house and other internet searches) in excess of £50,000 per year and add expense accounts in addition.
Origin group has gone through several name changes since 2008 according to my research.
I find this interesting. As I discover more, perhaps I will update this review. Or find a more suitable location for publication.
