Google Bad Review 1: I would firstly like to mention that this is the first negative review I have ever written on Google reviews and I am not in the habit of doing so, especially during a pandemic. However, I cannot stress enough that you should not use Oliver for your wedding photos and that our experience with him has been truly shocking.
We got married in August 2019 and Oliver was charming and responsive and we were impressed with his work. We agreed a price for the wedding day photos and we agreed as an additional service that he would record the speeches and vows. On the day he was fine and did his job (although later we would find out that some of our guests had found him rude). He published the photos on his website within a month and we were happy with the service.
However, as part of the package we were meant to receive a photobook of the wedding photos and the recordings that we had paid an extra £350 for. We began chasing Oliver for these items in early 2020 however he did not reply. By August 2020 we had still not heard from him and he was ignoring our calls, emails, texts and even social media. Realising that we were now in a pandemic and that he was likely struggling for work, we offered to forgo the wedding album so he didn’t incur any costs however the recordings wouldn’t cost any money to send and could he please just send them.
We began ringing him several times a day to try and get some sort of response and in October 2020 we wrote a letter threatening legal action. He replied to the email saying that “of course he wasn’t ignoring us” however the amount we were calling him was “a bit excessive”. Quite a remarkable reply from someone that had been ignoring us for over a year! However, as he had now replied, we thought we had made a breakthrough and that he would finally send the recordings. However, by early December we had still not had any reply from him despite chasing him several times. He finally replied on 12th December saying everything would be with us by Xmas.
Christmas and New Year came and went, and we began chasing again. He seemed to have all the excuses under the sun as to why he hadn’t posted anything: he was struggling for work, but the next weeks excuse was he was working 9-5pm and hadn’t had time. He wanted to spend time with his girlfriend (who works for the NHS?!), he was moving to a new house, the list went on. One time on a Wednesday in mid-January 2021 he said he would try and post our things by the Friday however he was busy with work – he then posted on social media that he had completed a 25-mile bike ride on the Friday! Still, he did not send our things.
On the 10th of February 2021 we finally received the goods we paid Oliver for from our wedding in August 2019. The experience has been utterly exhausting and his attitude throughout has been appalling. This is your wedding day and one of the most special days of your life – do not ruin it by hiring someone like Oliver Holder, its just not worth it. I’ll be happy to forward on to you the email correspondence with Oliver – if it hadn’t been so stressful it would be almost comical with his excuses and ability to blame anyone and anything but himself.

Google Bad Review (2): I have waited to post this for over a year. My daughter was married in August 2019 and the married couple have only recently received the items that were paid for. Having spoken to her over the last year it has been really clear that she has been under huge stress caused by this photographer and his delays Both her and hubby were seriously concerned that they were being brushed aside and ignored. Despite numerous emails and phone calls the guy has taken over a year to provide the goods. My grade of one star is simply because he turned up on their happy day.
