Google Bad Review: Had a consultation at the end of September 2021 regarding a broken front tooth that I hoped could be crowned.
Initially very impressed with what I thought was a thorough check-up, including x-rays and options given (including other teeth).
However, I decided I'd self refer myself to Guy's hospital dental services for a second opinion.
Was seen yesterday by a 4th year student, then two senior qualified staff.
Was told that my front tooth couldn't be crowned as not enough of the tooth remained and that x-rays showed a possible infection in the root.
Advised that my tooth needs removing and a bridge put in place.
Also advised that there is a possible fracture in a lower molar under an existing filling so needs replacing and possible extraction if fracture is untreatable.
Also a molar on opposite side needs work again possible extraction.
I'm concerned that these issues weren't raised at Old Kent road studio at the time of my consultation and I was offered work that the Consultant at Guy's hospital said wasn't appropriate.

Fully understand why you've written what you have but if it was true I wouldn't have been critical in my review.
Extraction and implant was suggested by yourself but crown option was also recommended with no implication that prognosis was bad. In fact I was encouraged to have a more expensive full ceramic crown instead of the cheaper option, which would have made more sense if there was a chance that long term prognosis was bad.
Fracture is actually on the right side not left. I was told at the time not to have this tooth refilled unless it was causing problems no mention of fracture.
You did suggest that the left side molar should be filled but I have been told the x-ray showed possibilty of cavity below gumline that needs investigation which you didn't mention.
