Google Bad Review 1: The London Dry Cleaning Company on Finchley Road is a prime example of how not to run a business.

I dropped off a pair of formal trousers that I had bought recently because I thought it was a good idea to have them dry cleaned instead of washing them myself. What a mistake that was! When I dropped them off, there were some stains on the upper back that needed to be removed, a very straightforward job. When I subsequently picked them up and brought them home I was surprised: not only where the original stains still there, but in addition there were a large number of blue stains running up along one of the trouser legs, a chemical substance of some sort. Naturally I went back but was treated with a lot of hostility. These were obviously stains that I had made, according to the woman behind the counter, and there was no way in hell that this could have happened during the “cleaning” process according to her. So much for ‘the customer is king’… After some back and forth she agreed to take them back and this time clean them properly. That was mistake number two…

Weeks went by, and multiple attempts from me and my partner to find out what the status was on my trousers led to a generic answer that they were undergoing “special treatment” off site. After a few weeks more and a few phone calls with her superior, I gave up and decided to collect the trousers, whatever state they were in. Naturally nothing had changed – the stains were still there – and although the “special treatment” supposedly happened off site, the trousers were right there for the taking.

Coming home angrily and frustrated with The London Dry Cleaning Company’s incompetence and general lack of manners, I came up with the brilliant idea to wash the trousers myself in the washing machine. What was left to lose anyway? To my surprise the stains were all gone when I took them out. The London Dry Cleaning Company’s ineptitude is only matched by their dishonesty.

In a nutshell: AVOID AT ALL COST.

Google Bad Review (2): Bad experience. Called ahead and asked if they could clean my leather shoes. The boss said “yes we'll take care of you”. The woman in the shop said come back on Tuesday and gave me a ticket for £5. On Tuesday morning I came back – the same woman said “it's not her job to clean shoes” and that she didn't tell me to come back on Tuesday. Messed up my whole day as I had to rearrange to be there early for 7.
