Google Bad Review: Simple the worst customer service I've had at a hotel. After booking this hotel through hotel.com and receiving confirmation, we spent 40 pound getting to the hotel in a taxi and after a 10 hour flight, only to be told that there was an error in system and our booking which was confirmed and paid through hotels.com would not be honoured. We were then handed a sticky note with expedias phone number and told that it was not their issue and we needed to call expedia to get a refund for the room. I understand system problems happen and would not have been so upset had we have been told prior to our arrival. The hotel had every chance to contact us prior to us arriving to notify us of the issue. To make matters even worse I emailed the hotel the day before to provide confirmation which was never responded to. Instesd the staff passed blame to expedia instead of taking ownership of the problem and offering a suitable rectification. The hotel manager refused to speak to us and instead passed messaged to the reception staff via mobile text messages. We were offered a room but we would have to pay 200 pound extra as the room rate that we confirmed with hotels.com was no longer available. This was simply unfair considering we had alresdy paid for the room. We asked to pay the difference between what we have already paid through hotels.com but this was not accepted. At least the staff let us use the wifi to find a new hotel however this is just a lack of professionalism and lack of ownership by the hotel. They are a new hotel and I hope their professionalism increases from here.
