Google Bad Review 1: Unfair pricing and rude. I just enquired at Lily Malia about the cost of getting a quick trim (just a straight trim no blow dry, no layers or styling) which for me usually takes about 10 minutes. Their prices for a cut for men is £38, the price for women, £49. This is the conversation that followed with the guy running the salon:
Me: Can I ask, if a male customer had long hair, would you charge for a women’s haircut?
Salon manager: No, those are the prices for men and women's haircuts
Me: But if it’s the same cut and takes the same amount of time, why do you charge women more?
Salon manager: That’s just the way it is in hairdressing
Me: That doesn’t mean it’s fair though does it?
Salon manager: That’s just the way it is.
Me: Not every salon does that.
Salon manager: Where have you been that doesn’t then?
Me: *mentioned somewhere I had been before*
Salon manager: Well I suggest you go back there then

Google Bad Review (2): In one way I'm really glad i went here, because now i know what rock bottom in a haircut looks and feels like. So, it can only get better… Sadly though i still have a truly terrible haircut to grow out and the memory of a very depressing (not to mention pricey) experience at the hairdressers. Receiving the cut was bad, but the real shock was the defensive and aggressive response from the hairdresser when i expressed my dissatisfaction – after he invited my opinion. I will now, for the first time ever, seek an appointment elsewhere and spend lots more money just to try and help me get it to a somewhat presentable state. Or to something that my husband, who is usually full of compliments, doesn't refer to as ”eek…”. Very depressing experience.
