Google Bad Review: Situation: Booked a two-week Thursday evening slot on the 5 a side football pitch for £108. The understanding was (we) the group would be informed if we could have the Thursday evening slot block booked. Prior and post every session we played in those two weeks we checked in with the office if the block booking was ours, they informed us our name has been put on the Thursday evening slots until further notice (essentially making the slot ours). As new starters/members, the office requested we fill out a new starter form and provide a list of names/numbers of the individuals who take part for health and safety reasons.
What transpired was: Week 3 our team turned up and we’d been informed the slot had been handed to the ‘regulars’ and they had been playing in that slot since the lift of the lockdown….Apparently the office mistook US for these ‘regulars’ (even though they requested us to fill out a NEW starter form and provide name/numbers from the team the previous week). It was frustrating that we had to explain the above situation and that our team had been allocated the Thursday evening slot until (what we were told) further notice. It’s only when I insisted and relayed everything I was told, that the office staff eventually/reluctantly conceded that they had made a mistake.
Everyone makes mistakes but to deliberately lie to me and (attempt to) walk away mid conversation until eventually coming to the realisation that I have some backing to what I was saying made me really question the integrity of the individuals running the place at Frenford. As an apology gesture, they let our group play table tennis and pool which we turned out to be interrupting a youth gathering.
Lesson: To ANY newcomers thinking of using the facilities at Frendord, take note of what was discussed, the name of the individual and if possible, get it all in writing. Don’t be sold on empty promises, they will try not to take any responsibility/accountability.
