Oil burning after buying bmw 318 2011
2 bottles since buying it(2 in 2 months)
2900 miles put on in the2 months.
Flc said they would call bmw as he believes this is the right amount of oil to go through the car at the miles its done
So 2k miles per month 24k per year
12 bottles of oil averaging at £20(1litre to 1.5 litre bottles)
First week i brought it we put it on a ramp at my local garage
Mechanic advised rear shock leaking back left side.
Also rear light out and should of not gone through mot. Also brake pads not under but ready for change any minute.
The mechanics garage being a car sales place to, said all this should be sorted before sale.
Dropped off on Friday the 14th of December for inspection under warranty.
Told will look into monday. Called Monday no further in looking into.
So within the first week, i am down over £100 in visits to garage, oil, back light.
Also problem with oil light coming on, sometimes staying on just after being filled oil.
20 and my first purchase of a nice car and what a horrible experience
I called on 18th to see how it is going
Said found oil leak in rocket cover
My local mechanic said this is wrong as he checked this when on ramp as very common problem for bmw
He said if leaking out rocket cover that much would drip onto exhaust and smell burning oil
And we couldnt see or smell this. No leaks
Shock replaced apparently
Feel like this garage is very much DODGY
