Google Bad Review 1: DO NOT WORK WITH FI GROUP!!!

The experience I had with their UK branch is the worst I had in the last 10 years. Initially, they seemed professional and trustworthy at worth selling their reputation, big size and expertise. You might think, right these guys are well established and know what they are doing. However, in the end they have miscalculated our R&D tax credits by £12k – I have sent the same accounts to other accountants and we got a much higher amount of credit. At this point I couldn’t exit the super restrictive agreement. Once you sign, even if you are not happy with the amount, you cannot exit the agreement unlike with other companies. On top of it, when we did finally receive our R&D tax credit, they forgot to include our bank details, so the tax authority had to send us a cheque, taking longer to receive the funds and causing all sorts of issues. To my question why they haven’t included our bank details when the other accountants I have always worked with have, they said it was my responsibility to include or update the bank details. Even on the letter from the tax authority they mentioned – next time you submit your R&D claim, please include your bank details – unbelievable that they wouldn’t do it or even mention it to me – a company that supposedly hires professionals with enough experience. When I mentioned to my account manager that I wasn’t happy with their customer service, their sales director emailed me and suggested to end our engagement and asked their finance team to send me an invoice WITHOUT A SINGLE APOLOGY for the mess they created, which I was happy to end on my side as well…so unprofessional beyond my expectations.
