Google Bad Review 1: I'd give 0 stars if the option was available.
I've been trying to cancel my membership for almost 4 months. Cancellation option online is conveniently disabled. Calls and several visits to the Catford gym proved futile. Left contact details for management to call back. No response. Finally emailed on September 7 re cancellation and they've still charged me and my partner for November, bearing in mind I haven't been to the gym since onset of Covid19. Having children with underlying health conditions, I've tried to stay away to i don't catch anything and pass on to them.
I won't be surprised if a lot of customers were in the same situation trying to cancel membership and were being messed about and still being charged membership fees when nobody is even responding to emails.
I go to the gym today to try and speak to someone to sort this mess out and finally get to speak to a manager named Jonathan, very condescending, rude and patronising. He was on his way out and wasn't interested in anything I had to say. His words are “everyone understands the contract so I don't know why you don't “, like I'm an idiot. I've done everything I can to get assistance(wasting my time to come to the gym, phone calls and various email)with no help offered whatsoever and this arrogant manager treats me with such disrespect.
I'm outraged at this point tell him “this is f***king ridiculous. This manager then tells me he's finished work so let's go have it outside. Meaning he's going to fight me outside the gym. Seriously??!! How does anyone in a managerial position say that to a customer?
Many people now join in to diffuse the rapidly escalating situation. Jonathan then calls the police and gives them my address (breaching confidtial data) and lies to them that I said I was going to kill him.
I've had no issues with the gym, staff and equipment for a year as they have some wonderful people working there like Hercules.
However this manager should never be allowed to work in any customer facing industry as his attitude is downright disgusting, no empathy or understanding whatsoever. I'm the one losing money and time and I get treated like this?

Google Bad Review (2): The gym itself has a well equipped gym with friendly gym goers and helpful staff but unfortunately the third rated company that deals with your direct debit are very quick to penalize you and charge you £20 for their own mistakes
