Google Bad Review: I've been with E8 Dental care for some years now and have always received great dental care from the dentists there. But how the practice is run and how no discretion is exercised for things that happen out of a patient's control is what I have a massive issue with. Recently I came for a hygienist appointment, and unfortunately, I was 10 minutes late to my appointment due to travel issues. I called the surgery to explain why beforehand but no one answered. When I arrived at the dentist, I explained things to the receptionist who asked the hygienist if I could still be seen. I was told no, despite only being 10 minutes late and my appointment time being a 30-minute slot for my scale and polish.
Now I respect rules and regulations, but the lack of discretion with timings and cancellations at the dental surgery of recent is ridiculous. Things happen in life where delays or unforeseen circumstances can happen and the dental practice should allow a bit of room for that.
The £20 charge if you cancel a hygienist appointment within 48 hours is absurd as well. If this was 24 hours then fine, but 48 hours is excessive.
On top of that, I was told I would need to make a new appointment, pay another £65 for that new appointment, plus I was informed that I would be charged a £20 fee for the one for which I would not be seen for. I said my piece and walked out. And I will find a new dentist whilst I'm at it.
Oh and £23 for a check-up appointment, then an additional £65 for a separate scale and polish clean appointment with the hygienist is a borderline piss-take.
