Google Bad Review 1: Totally regretting our decision and 100% dissatisfied. There’s sound advice in the adage that if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. If you are seriously considering using this firm based on their salesman, brochure and promotions then run away. Run now and as fast as they did immediately after they had our cheque. We agreed to their proposal based on specific requirements (which weren’t honoured) and then given a two day period before installation – and oh by the way there’s a $750.00 rebate! Rolled back one week in order for us to get the necessary energy audit their installation was rescheduled to October 3rd, 2019. Mother Nature gave us miserable weather and their installers arrived just before 10:00 am, but didn’t have any drop cloths/protection for our hardwood floors, stairs into the basement or guest room in order to access the furnace area. To mitigate the two hour delay required to return to their shop, retrieve and return here with what should have been on board, we supplied 9 of our own clean moving blankets. The installers used them as well as removing and using the protection that was placed over the bed in the guest room.
I waited for follow up from Donaldson, but then contacted the salesman one week following installation and received the response that we were not forgotten! Sorry, but continuing with a detailed account only serves to add to the dissatisfaction – bullets moving forward:
– Confusion(?) on the work order regarding the required “canvass” isolation boots on the plenums results in nothing being installed.
– The grass between the driveway and condenser is beaten down, except at the condenser it is not going to bounce back.
– All our moving blankets are soiled because of the foot traffic bringing in weather and mud created at the area surrounding the new condenser.
– The once protected bedspread now has a tear in it.
– Last, but definitely not the least is the promised noise abatement, which was a prime objective. We’ve paid $10k to replace a 12 year old single stage furnace with a purported state of the art only to hear the inducer motor starting and then the ramping up to the supply fan; an experience similar to a jet engine starting, and I don’t care how well the Trane cabinet is insulated, because it’s the plenums that transmits the noise of the motors to the bedroom. It still sounds like a single stage furnace!
I’m a senior and was motivated by their service promotions. My wife wouldn’t have to worry about heating or cooling as long as she lived here if I was unable to handle it. Do we now have any expectations for the promotion promised 15 year warranty, priority lifetime service or whatever?
No, we do not!
