Google Bad Review 1: I was told by Alice of Dexters (Marylebone Office) to come for a viewing of a property that was “available” a few days ago. By the time me and my partner got inside the property to view it she came across as socially awkward and after about 10 minutes told us that the landlord will be holding a meeting with two previous viewers so this property will most probably be removed from the market…. So why the hell were we not told from the beginning? We travelled all across East London for no reason basically. At the end she told me that either way she will let me know if the property is available or not. Well she lied because we didn't get an update and the property has been removed from the market. Absolute waste of time by an inept individual!

Google Bad Review (2): Jadasa was Dexter’s saving grace when I was encountering trouble with the landlords and the rest of the members of the agency I spoke with who weren’t as willing to help. Polite, reassuring, kind and honest she is one of the few honest people operating at Dexter’s and in the rental market. She was timely, professional and most importantly human. The 3 stars are only because of her, I would give her 5 stars and the agency a single star. There was one other senior leader at the agency who gave his 150% to help us. Unfortunately, I don’t remember his name.

I cannot say the same about the person who showed us the property, Luke. Just because the contract with the landlords was supposed to be through Dexter’s he lied to us about the break clause and the landlords’ take on the break clause. We later found out he hadn’t even spoken to them about the break clause. An honest transaction could have saved both parties a lot of trouble during COVID lockdown.

Same was the case when it came to getting our deposit back at the end of the tenancy. The person, Kourosh, who was assigned to our case was most negligent. He did not get back to us with any information on closing our account within the 10 days after move out. Despite multiple emails for a month, I finally had to email Jadasa to look into it. When he finally got back, we weren’t given a proper breakdown of the charges. It took almost another 2 months for Kourosh to get back to us with the details of the charges (an example: we were being charged £20 to remove a piece a paper which should have been removed during the deep clean which we had gotten through Dexter’s!).
Most of these charges should never have been assigned to us and on threat of opening a dispute with TDS, the charges were brought down from approx. £500 to our goodwill gesture of £60.

Please know your rights as a tenant before moving in or out.
